Get started early with PowerFlashCard
PowerFlashCard
is computer software for early childhood education, a
learning software for kids from infant to ago six. It is modeled after
right brain based teaching methods of math dot cards and bits of intelligence
by Dr. Glenn Doman. It works like flash cards/flashcards that has three
tools currently, teach your baby math, teach your baby to read, and show
your baby pictures. New features will be added periodically to the flash
card/flashcard program. See the
download page
for the software information, and download free learning materials. You
can also download a free math baby dot flash card/flashcard set in the form
of an eBook.
PowerFlashCard is designed based on Dr. Glenn Doman right brain teaching method.
Glenn Doman was the pioneer in early childhood education field. Glenn Doman started
to train brain injured children at the beginning of 20th century. Glenn Doman discovered
the gradual development of brain injured children. Glenn Doman baby flash card method
now is applied to normal children at very early age. The same practice is used in
Japan. It was developed and pioneered by Shichida. It is called in Japan Shichida
method.
Glenn Doman and Shichida method of early childhood education is adopted all over
the world. The main difference between the Glenn Doman method and shichida method
is at the repeat rate. Glenn Doman focuses on impression. Glenn Doman baby dot flash
card method flashes for a few times and moves on. Glenn Doman treats dots, words
and pictures are all pictures, images to kids' brain. Shichida baby flash card method
focuses on repeated flashes. shichida flashes many more times to kids, and tries
to let kids memorize the pictures or images. It's up to you to pick the focus, impression
or memorising. Personally, I prefer Glenn Doman method to Shichida simply because
I like to jump around. I think my kids get bored very soon.
Many parents ask me if the pattern of the dots on the baby math dot flash cards makes
the difference. If you read Glenn Doman book "How to Teach Your Baby Math", you
will see that Glenn Doman disregarded the pattern. To kids, it's the picture or
image that matters.
You've got a baby!
When
you have a newborn, you naturally
want to prepare the baby for the life-long journey ahead. You did research
on early childhood education. You found Dr. Glenn Doman, and his methods
of teaching very young baby. You read his books "How to teach your
baby math", "How to teach your baby to read", etc. You start
to make baby math dot cards and word flashcards/flash cards in the little time
you had when the baby was asleep... I have been there, done that. Well,
try PowerFlashCard. It may just make your life a little easier.
PowerFlashCard is a working progress. Since the initial release of the
software, PowerFlashCard has been through some major changes. More functions
have been added to the baby flash card/flashcard program partly due to user
response, and through my own experience with my baby.
PowerFlashCard is baby flash card/flashcard loaded with configurable options.
You don't have to buy dots or paper materials; you don't have to cut and
paste to make math dot cards. You make up your own math problems, words,
pictures, save them and flash them to your baby. You are in complete control of content,
color, font size, how many baby flash cards/flashcards to flash, and flashing
speed.
PowerFlashCard speaks (with Microsoft text-to-speech engine) English, Spanish,
French, German, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. It is ideal
for teaching your baby foreign languages.
Over the years, I have donated PowerFlashCard to many parents and
organizations that care for brain injured children. I am humbled in comparison
to their heroic effect to help the children. I am also proud that PowerFlashCard
has received high praise from them. Let's all do our best to make the world
a better place. Make a difference by doing our part.
