After my daughter Renee was born, I went on www.google.com to search for topics relate to early childhood education. The search came up many links. After some digging, the brain-based early education intrigued me the most. Within brain-based education, I found the right brain-based infant education the most practical. Take a look at my links page. I am updating new links as they come along.
Unlike the pure research sites or sites that sell expensive "kits", this site offers great information and free teaching materials. I jumped the gun.
I immediately set out to buy materials that make math dot cards. After spending about $50, I brought home post boards and some five thousands red dots. The pasting job was not fun once the number got above twenty, trust me. Finally, I made one hundred dot cards.
Quickly, problem rose. I could not do, for example, 2+2 = 4, since I did not have two two-dot cards. For the same reason, I could not teach 6+6=12, and 4+8=12 in the same session. Teaching words was a challenge all by itself. I was constantly in need of making new cards. You get the picture.
This is how PowerFlashCard came about. Now, with the software, I can easily make up math problems, line up words, and show pictures of my liking to Renee on my laptop any time when she is in a learning mode. Piece of cake!
